“My inspiration for this piece came from when I was having lunch with a friend in Kenya and this creature was on the bench just outside her front door. And I absolutely loved it. I took loads of photos.
I love the green. The absolute vivid, vivid green with a striking red, red eye. And then underneath his beautiful outside wings. These amazing, amazing, amazing dark, bright red wings that when he flew away just blew my mind.
So, hopefully, I’ve given him the justice that he deserves. Lots of layers went into this which is really, really fun. I like to get the paint consistency that you can actually use the end of the feather and the sharp point and almost scratch into it.
So yeah, hopefully, you like it.
