“Every year since 2009 I have painted two original fighting pheasants. 2020, I went big with these two chaps.
As ever, painted using pheasant tail feathers and ink to create this large pair of pheasants. These have been framed in black which really defines the piece.
At the time of writing, we are moving into that time of year when we will see plenty of this behaviour in our fields and hedges across the country. Take time if you can to watch these often frenetic battles as it is an amazing spectacle as they do battle. This is why it was great to capture these chaps in the midst of their fight club.
